Judgement in Tarot

Meaning, love, work, money and advice

Judgement
Group: Major Arcana
Number: XX
Keywords: awakening, calling, second chance
Yes or no: Yes

Judgement is the card of awakening and second chances. It calls you to look back, understand and decide with courage.

What Judgement means

Judgement is arcanum XX and speaks of a calling: something inside you wakes up and asks for a decision. It's the card of second chances and honest reckonings.

In a spread, it says the time has come to answer — an invitation, a person from your past, a calling you've put off. It also shows that you'll see your story with new eyes and forgive what was left unresolved.

It often comes up in questions about returns: people, jobs and places that reappear.

The card image

An angel blows a trumpet and, below, people rise from their graves with open arms. The trumpet is the calling; rising up is the decision to answer; the open arms are the acceptance of the past.

Judgement in love

In love, it speaks of reunions and relationships that come back with a new understanding. Also of clearing-the-air conversations, forgiveness and final decisions. If an ex is involved, this card usually says the matter is going to be reopened.

What do they feel for me? Judgement in feelings

For “what do they feel for me?”, Judgement shows someone going back over everything. This person is thinking about what you shared, weighing mistakes and feeling the urge to start over. There's feeling mixed with regret — and, often, a move toward you on its way.

Judgement at work

At work, it points to picking up an old project, an offer to come back, or finally pursuing what you have a gift for. Good news on stalled matters.

Judgement and money

In finances, old matters get settled: debts squared away, money recovered, decisions left behind.

Judgement reversed

Reversed, it speaks of ignoring the calling, unresolved guilt or fear of deciding. It can point to someone stuck in the past without learning from it.

Combinations with other cards

Judgement with The World: a cycle that closes completely, with everything resolved.

Judgement with the Six of Cups: someone from the past who comes back.

Judgement with Justice: formal decisions and settlements that are finalized.

Judgement in a yes-or-no reading

In Yes or No Tarot, Judgement answers yes. The full answer, with the why, depends on your question.

Mestre Cruz's advice

Answer the call. Look back without punishing yourself, take the lesson and take the step you've been putting off.
